Srinagar: Heavy snowfall across Kashmir on Saturday disrupted normal life, affecting road connectivity, flight operations, and power supply in several districts.
According to officials from the local meteorological department, higher reaches of Gulmarg and Sonamarg received fresh snowfall exceeding 8 inches, while plains including Srinagar witnessed moderate snow accumulation.
Authorities temporarily suspended traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway due to slippery conditions and the risk of landslides. Several flights at Srinagar International Airport were delayed due to poor visibility.
Power restoration teams have been deployed in affected areas, and officials have advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel until weather conditions improve.
